After enjoying the winter weather for a week the thaw is beginning to take hold. The girls have enjoyed sledding and having a break from school. I cannot help but wonder if their grandmother's Appalachian wisdom will prevail. There is a story in Appalachia that if a snow lasts more than three days it is waiting on another snow. I have often been amazed at how accurate some of these stories, handed down through generations, have proven themselves.
Advice is like snow - the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper it sinks into the mind. -- Samuel Taylor Coleridge
